This is a collection of poems by Frances Lee on the theme of love. In her own words “These reflections and observations on a broadly unifying theme have been selected to celebrate Valentine’s Day 2020 and to mark my seventh decade”.

The music for this and for other three way collaborations was created by Frances’ husband, Edward Lee.

The role of the music is not to be constantly present and in interaction with the words, but instead to frame the readings, to set the scene and to lead us away and onwards from what has been heard. So this is not just a set of readings, with music interspersed, such as you might get in a poetry evening, but a continuous work – a journey through love.

Frances Lee is Scottish by birth but grew up in Littleport, in the Cambridgeshire Fens. She had a varied career as a medical secretary, a translator, and finally as a teacher of French and English at the University of Westminster. She started writing poetry in 2014.
